Nowadays, the world moves very fast. Everyone wants everything right away! There was a time when we had to transfer pictures to our PCs and edit them using heavy software, but recently, I prefer doing it on my phone (well, if it’s not that important. For important pictures and great detail, mobile app editing may fall short).
On the app store, there are thousands of editing tools offering millions of editing controls. Throughout my photographic journey, I’ve preferred being a minimalist. I always try not to overuse apps when editing a picture. I have a few personal favorites, and in this blog, I’m going to share with you my top 3 picks for Mobile Editing Apps!
01. Adobe Lightroom Mobile:
If you’re a Lightroom user, you should feel quite comfortable using this app. And if you’re not, it may take a while, but once you get used to it, you’ll be coloring your pictures like Picasso!
There’s a lot you can do with Lightroom. It allows you to use all the features available on the PC version.
My favorite feature in Lightroom Mobile is the Color Grading tool. It lets you change a picture’s mood, just like in a film. Additionally, you have access to all the other adjustment features. The best thing about Lightroom is the presets. You can save all your favorite presets, which will save time when editing a bunch of photos.

The free version of Lightroom Mobile is good enough to edit your everyday photos. With a premium subscription, you’ll unlock features like the remove tools and exotic filters. However, most Android devices now have remove tools, and if you know how to edit, you won’t need the filters, so they’re not essential.
02. Snapseed
Before I got into Lightroom, Snapseed was my go-to editing app. It’s fast, easy, and convenient. It has pretty much everything you need to color any picture. The best part is, everything about this app is free; it doesn’t require any subscriptions like most other apps!
I have many favorite features in Snapseed. The first one I’d pick is Grainy Film. I’ve always been a fan of the film look in pictures. You can easily apply any look from Snapseed and tweak it to fit your picture. If you don’t like the grain, you can reduce it to zero. I also absolutely love the Brush tool, which allows you to dodge/burn, adjust exposure, or saturate any portion of your picture, and it’s very simple to use.

There are also other helpful features like contrast adjustment, HDR, black-and-white filters, and more! You can even experiment with double exposure (I’ll explain double exposure in a whole new blog)!

Overall, Snapseed is a very easy-to-use app. Give it a try—it won’t disappoint you!
03. VSCO:
So far, the apps I’ve talked about are mostly cost-free. But if you want to invest in your editing tools, VSCO is one of the best apps! I absolutely love their filters. Every time I edit with VSCO, people ask me which app I used. VSCO has a large community where you can easily see the amazing photographs people are creating using VSCO. If you use VSCO, I suggest posting your photos with the #vsco tag. It will help others discover your picture and appreciate it (Appreciation matters! Trust me!).

My favorite features in VSCO are the crazy filters! I absolutely love every one of them. Their HSL (Hue, Saturation, Luminance) tools are also pretty amazing. But as I said, it doesn’t come for free. Personally, if you’re new to photography, I’d suggest starting with the other apps above. Once you get more experienced with editing, you can subscribe to VSCO. For now, you can play around with the free version, which is still pretty good.
So, here are my top 3 picks! Let me know if you want to know in detail about any app/tools or edit style ! See you soon again.
